It's great to be able to tuck into whatever yummy food we like but unfortunately yummy food is usually full of sugar, fat, carbs and salt. Comfort foods are never healthy because comfort foods are usually fries, cakes and pizza. Now and again it's OK to eat the tasty foods you desire but if you eat them every single day and you don't eat anything healthy you can help up with major health problems. Obesity is a major problem around the world and America is the worst country for this. A lot of people want to lose weight because they see images of beautiful and slim men and women and want to look the same.

However losing weight should also be about getting healthy. If you don't have a lot of money, health insurance for healthy people is going to be cheaper too. Of course, there are those who are very slim but eat utter junk and as a result they are also unhealthy. You can get fat externally and internally too. Just because someone is slim doesn't mean to say they don't have internal fat. So the emphisis should really be about what foods are healthy and full of vitamins, minerals and other nice stuff that our bodies need to function properly.

Another thing to think about when choosing a healthy diet is that fact the deficiencies in certain nutrients can lead to minor health problems that we tend to just accept as normal. Think about things like dry flaky skin, brittle nails, acne and mood swings. If you really do research into these conditions you will find that it can be due to a poor diet that hasn't get enough protein and essential fatty acids (EFAs). This is just scratching the surface when we talk about a healthy diet. People just accept health problems and don't think about why they happen in the first place. People take pain killers and other drugs when it might not be needed. Think about that for a moment.
